Prerequisite Courses

Students are required by the Ontario Ministry of Education to have completed the prerequisite course for the course they would like to study. A prerequisite course ensures that students have the prior knowledge required to be successful in the next course. Before students enroll in a course, they must meet the prerequisite requirements established by the Ministry of Education.

When registering for ASK Online Canada courses, students are required to submit a copy of an Ontario Student Transcript (OST), final report card, or a current school credit counselling summary to show that they have completed the prerequisite course.

Most, but not all courses require a prerequisite course. You may check the Ontario Ministry of Education’s list of course prerequisites here.

Prerequisite Waivers

Some students (for example, international students or homeschooled students or other) are eligible for a prerequisite course waiver.

If you would like to request a prerequisite waiver, please contact [email protected] before you register for your course.
